Washing Merino Wool
Washing Merino Wool
Merino wool is a perfect fabric for babies. It insulates, absorbs body moisture, breathes and is soft and non-irritating. This is very important for babies who still have fragile temperature mechanisms.
Please Take Care of Me
- As our wool has not been treated with anti-shrinking or fixing agents, please take extra care when washing garments.
Don't Shrink Me
- Always check the washing instructions as some garments require hand washing.
- Always use cool water, less than 30 degrees celsius.
- If the water is too warm, the garment will felt and shrink.
- Always lay garment flat to dry in the shade or use a cool dryer setting.
Don't Bleach Me
- Always use an approved liquid wool detergent.
- Do not soak or wash your woolen garments using laundry powders.
- Did you know most laundry powders contain whiteners which act like bleach, even 'eco-whiteners' may still bleach your garment creating bleach spots and holes! If the garment is stained, use our Stain Soap and rub into the effected area before washing
Pilling
- As our wool has not been treated with a synthetic coating, it may pill.
- If pilling occurs, do not despair, this is a natural process where friction causes the short fibres to migrate to the surface. Once removed these will disappear.
